Fairbanks Electric tonering

"Electric" tone ring by the A.C.Fairbanks & co.
(Nothing to do with electrcity. Just a name.)
(In fact, Vega made real electric banjos in the '30's)

Second picture shows the detail of the tonering.
It is made from one-piece metal ring and the notches
are milled out.

Outside of the Electric banjo rim.

Yet another Electric tonering.
This one belong to the 1896 Imperial Electric banjaurine.
The height of the tonering is lower than the one shown above.
Both these Electric tonerings are of one piece construction
not like the hoop and scalloped ring construction of the Whyte-Laydie.

Fairbanks Special Electric reverse electric tone ring.
It has a brass hoop supported on the inverse electric scalloped ring.
The outer of the shell is covered with german silver sheet metal.
This construction evolved into the Whyte Laydie tone ring.
